To begin with put your hook in the vise and hold your dumbbell eyes on top. Then take your thread of choice and make figure eight wraps around the dumbbell eyes and hook. Do it in one direction for about eight wraps and then flip directions and go the other way. Once you are confident the eyes are not going to slide around take out your white buck tail. Cut off a piece of the hair about half of a pencils circumference and the that in between the dumbbell eyes and wrap it back towards the hook shank for about five wraps. After that flip your hook in the Vice and take out the chartreuse buck tail. Take a full pencil circumference of it and tie it on to the under side of the white hair. After all your hair is tied in use you head cement and glue it down we’re you tied it in. At this point you have created a Clouser Minnow, there are several ways to fish this fly. A steady retrieve is very effective but you can also bump it in just over the bottom for a slower retrieval. A little pro tip for some more bites if fishing is slow. Take a red sharpie and draw a red collar on the white part to look like the fish is wounded.
